Background
Within GetHelpOC, all participating agencies have the ability to search, send resource to their clients or send a direct referral on behalf of a consented client. The resource database is user friendly and agency partners have access to over 3,000 program/services. The resources are continuously updated throughout the year to ensure up to date information.
Searching for Resources
To search for resources, start at the client profile page. Under the Client Page Base Navigation Flow Search 2.0, click the Resource Search button. Once selected, click next and this will direct you to the resource section. There are several ways that you may search for resources.
Option 1: Searching in the Taxonomy field and by the zip code
A taxonomy refers to a standardized system of terms used to categorize and index information about the wide variety of human services available.
Step 1: Click in the white box under " Search Taxonomy" on the upper right corner. The top taxonomy needs will appear for you to select from.
Step 2: Select the appropriate taxonomy and click the orange search button.
Step 3: Next, under Postal Code enter the zip code or type in the city name and click on the orange search location. This is highly recommended as some of the programs only serve certain areas in Orange County.
Note: Another option is to search target words and target population within the taxonomy field.
You're able to search for a target population, for this example we are going to use Veteran.
1. In the same taxonomy field type the word veteran and click the orange search button. The system will populate sub-categories you can choose from and click the orange search button for the resources to populate.
Option 2: Sending a direct referral on behalf of a consented client to any of GetHelpOC's participating partners.
Step 1: Click the "Search All" box.
Step 2: Toggle on the Direct Referral button.
Note: For all services that are receiving direct referrals there is a gold star next to their services.
Option 3: Search for service, keyword, or a agency name
Step 1: Click the "Search all box"
Step 2: Under the Search ( Agency, Service, Keyword) type in the keyword, agency name, or service.
Additional Filter Option: To search for additional filters you may click on the Additional Filters tab on the bottom of the blue Search Taxonomy Box when you have selected a taxonomy or use other search functions mentioned above. When clicking, it will populate all the filters.
For example: A client is need of food pantries in Anaheim on Thursdays. Click the additional filters tab and click on Thursday under Program Service Days. Once selected it will populate all the resource applicable on the left side of the page.
Note: Please remember to click the orange Clean Filter button when conduction a new search.
Reading resource information & sending out resources :
Step 1: When providing a resource to the client, ensure that you reviewed the eligibility requirements and coverage area before sending a resource. To view further details, you may click on More Info. It will expand the resource and provide further details.
Step 2: Once you have determined the resource you will like to send, click on the green add referral button to all the resources. You will be able to search for other resources until you are ready to send them.
Step 3: Once all referrals have been selected, go to the referral queue on top of the page and click the green send referrals button.
Step 4: You have the option to select the referral Method, Direct Referrals (participating partners only and only on behalf of a consented client), email and/or text. Proceed to select a need. Select the need that is applicable to the requested service of the client. Once complete, click the orange button that will save and send the referrals.
Once the referrals have been sent click Submit Case on the upper right-hand corner. The case will be closed and saved.
